Meybod Steel

Meybod Steel is now a turning point in the steel industries in Iran, All the designs and installations have been done with the technical know how and expertise of Iranian specialist, specially, the Ghaem-Reza complex expert groups. Previously, steel product technology belonged to international companies throughout the world. Know how and expertise of Iranian specialists and experience gained from operating Isfahan Zobe-Ahan company, Foolad-Technique International Engineering Corporation, a branch of GRICO managed to develop a 540 cubic meter blast furnace with an annual product capacity of 300,000 tons of cast- iron which is a pressing need for foundry and automotive manufacturing industries. The Meybod steel plant situated on the margins of Yazd desert in Meybod wonship, Yazd province, was reactivated in Oct.1999 following a restructuring of management and re-allotment of shares by Iran Meli bank, turning into a public joint –stock Company. The construction work of the plant started in Sep.1997 and was resumed in Oct.1997 after a two- year disruption due to financial difficult. The blast furnace is basically designed in such a way as to allow product of pig- irons (cast-iron ingots) for molding cast-iron parts using iron ore excluding agglomerates with an effective product capacity of 540 cubic meters. The blast furnace consists of an inclined bridge receiving unit known as skip and a feed stock charger with a rotary distributor equipped with two bells. This company was assigned to Mahan Industrial Group in December 2012.
